Protocol for a Displaced Self
Operating at the intersection of ancestral ruins and digital simulation, Protocol for a Displaced Self utilizes high-tech VR and motion sensors to examine the friction of dual existence. Performed across historical sites and natural landscapes in Italy and Portugal, the work functions as a clinical trial for a consciousness no longer anchored to a single geography.
Clad in a futuristic costume of the artist’s own design, the figure translates hand movements into a generative sonic landscape, bridging the gap between tactile memory and virtual space. In one sequence, the artist performs within forest greens, simulating a tree to interrogate the synthesis between biological life and synthetic architecture. This ongoing intervention acts as a psychological archaeology, establishing a ritual for navigating the collapse of the physical world into a digital afterlife.
